Welcome Back to Clifford Marshall Elementary School!

Back to School Start Dates

  • Grades 1-4 Start Wednesday, September 6

  • Kindergarten Orientation is Friday, September 9 (more information to come)

  • First day of Kindergarten is Monday, September 11

School Hours

  • 8:15 AM to 2:30 PM: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday

  • All Wednesdays (including the first day of school) will be an 8:15 AM to 11:55 AM early dismissal day. Lunch will now be served on Wednesdays in all classrooms from 11:30 – 11:55 AM

Entrances:

Main door (Moody St.)

  •  Opens at 7:50am

Lower Door (Southern Artery)

  • Opens at 8:00am

First Day Arrival

Grade 1: At 8:15am students will line up outside the main door (Moody St.)

Grades 2-4: At 8:15am students will line up outside of the lower door (Southern Artery)

*On the first day of school, teachers and staff will be outside to greet students and guardians and assist them in finding their teachers.

Arrival Procedure

  • Students can arrive between 7:50 and 8:15am

  • All students can enter through either the main door or the lower door

  • Main Door (Moody St.) is curbside rolling drop-off: Students should exit the car on the right side and cross in front of the car. Parents and guardians are asked to stay in their car. Parking is not permitted on Moody St.

  • Lower Door (Southern Artery) This door will be open from 8:00-8:15. Parents may drop off students to walk in on their own or parents are welcome to walk students up to the door, but MUST plan to park in a lined space.

Absent and Tardy

  • Please call the Clifford Marshall School by 8:30 AM if your child is going to be absent

  • If your child is absent and has been seen by a doctor please send a doctor’s note so that we can mark the absence as excused

  • Students who arrive AFTER 8:15 should enter through the main door and will be marked tardy

Dismissal Procedures

  • Students will exit the building at 2:30pm (11:55 on Wednesdays)

  • Students in grades K-1 will be dismissed through their classroom doors

  • Students in grades 2-4 will be dismissed through the lower door

  • At 2:35, any student who has not been picked up will be brought to the main office and will need to be signed out Please fill out the dismissal form. Homeroom teachers will pass this out on the first day of school.

Early Dismissal

  • If dismissing your student early from school, please email your student’s teacher, send in a note, or call the main office

  • All early dismissals will go through the main office

Breakfast, Snack, Lunch

Breakfast:

  • Breakfast is free to all students

  • Breakfast will be served each morning from 7:50 AM – 8:15 AM in our cafeteria.

  • Bus students will have an opportunity to receive breakfast once they arrive at school.

Snack:

  • All classrooms will also have a brief snack period during the day.

  • Students are encouraged to bring a healthy snack from home each day. We will also be part of the Fresh Fruit and Vegetable Program (FFVP) offering free fruit and vegetable snacks to students daily.

  • We are a peanut aware school, so please Do not send in any snacks containing peanuts or peanut products.

Lunch:

  • Lunch is free to all students

  • If you prefer to bring lunch from home please be sure all food is Peanut Free

Supplies

  • All students will receive a backpack with supplies on September 7th. Thank you to Quincy Credit Union for providing all backpacks. Students are welcome to bring in additional school supplies if they prefer. Classroom donations of tissues and sanitizing wipes are always appreciated.

  • Students are encouraged to bring a reusable water bottle

Recess and Specials

  • Students will have recess time everyday

  • Students will have a 30 minute special each day. Specials are Physical Education, Art, Music and Media

  • Thursday, August 31st: Popsicles in the Park 5:30-6:30pm

  • Thursday, August 31st: New Building Tour for grades 1-4 3:30pm (if interested email [email protected])

  • Tuesday, September 19th: Open House 5:00-6:30pm

  • Thursday, September 28th: First PTO Meeting 6:30pm

  • Friday, October 6th: Picture Day
